Erie Prep Discusses Emotional Exhaustion with First Responders

Erie Prep presented on the dangers surrounding Secondary Trauma and Compassion Fatigue in Green Twp. Hamilton County Ohio. There are 29 more First Responders in SW Ohio now aware of Emotional Exhaustion.

First responders are charged with helping individuals while they are in their worst times. Regardless of how tough you are or how long you have been doing this, unwanted feelings and behaviors result from the indirect exposure to trauma by helping or wanting to help someone who has been traumatized.

Despite all your efforts, without addressing the effects of these experiences, you will become damaged by what you do, ultimately burn out, and leave the work. There is a way out of this, and the first step is learning of its existence and of the methods for combating it.
